Bangladesh’s E-Arrival Card process has moved online for air travelers, so passengers can submit the required immigration details before they get to the airport. Foreign nationals can use the system; Bangladeshi nationals don’t need an ED card at all.
What changed
Bangladesh Immigration, Special Branch now runs separate online pages for the E-Arrival Card and E-Departure Card, both for air passengers. The arrival form asks for name, passport number, nationality, arrival date, flight number, address in Bangladesh, contact details, visa number or type, visa issue and expiry dates, stay duration, and accompanying members.
The departure form covers similar identity and visa details, plus final destination, destination city, departure date, and departure flight number. It’s not clear from what’s available whether paper cards are gone entirely.
Who this affects
Foreign passport holders traveling to or from Bangladesh by air need the online ED card. Bangladeshi nationals are exempt.
When it takes effect
August 19, 2026. Before that, travelers filled out the form at the airport; now the online pages are the live option for eligible air passengers.

Officials say it’s about digitizing immigration formalities and letting passengers submit their info ahead of time, with the aim of cutting down queues and speeding things up.
